I bought 10 of them when they were on sale (which is quite often).

They sound quite good !

Check the reviews on them -

Anyone building an affordable system can do it now - with a bit of class even. Students can now afford good sounds for mere few hundred $. with the Sony SCD-CE595 SACD/CD Changer - another price breaking product.

Add audiosource pre and power amp 300, you have a powerful and sweet system for a few hundred dollars.

If you are choosy, you can get good sounds for peanuts.

We can give them to our children, parents, loved ones...

The speakers are beautiful looking, and sound is much better than you would expect from the price - or even at several times the price.

Cheers,

I'll need to keep an eye out for a sale and pick a set up.

Those Insignia speakers can do very good things if you want what they do.
JV here has 2 pairs mounted double ended and likes them enough to keep them.

Also think Infinity Beta 20.

Double Ended, like the old Advent trick
Take one speaker put it on a stand, take a second turn it upside down and stack it on top.
IMHO that would likely ruin some of the specialness of the single point source quality of the speaker, though it would increase it's ability to play loudly.

I guess you would wire them parallel to increase the volume?

The real difference in SPL ability, is the doubling of the radiating surface area.
