Klipsch RF-62 or Polk Audio TSI500

But I wouldn't base a buying decision on that alone. There's not way you can hear them both? |

If you plan to use it for music & HT, Paradigm studios can do a better job as they are more all round speakers. You can also make klipsch good for Music by adding some tube integrateds like Jolida / Sophia Electric at a later time for $400 on Audiogon. Also, for HT with klipsch...Yamaha is a bad choice. Harman kardon, Marantz are two lines that work better with Klipsch...even Pioneer. I am not sure what your budget is....But you can do better using some medium priced HT reciever from H/K and then add some pre-owned 3 channel amps from B&K / Parasound (from Audiogon) to create an awesome HT set-up. B&K and Parasound have very good synergy with Klipsch speakers. If you need more directed feedback, let folks know the budget you are working with and you will see some very nice suggestions from folks on this great forum. Mike |

This is the first time I've run across someone saying that Yamaha receivers don't play well with Klipsch speakers, but this thread reads as if this were a commonly known thing. Could someone elaborate on this? Are there already threads that cover this I could be pointed to? |

Majority of the Yamaha Recievers are also on the brighter side. That does not mean Yamaha recievers are bad...they do go well with some laid back speakers. But pairing up brighter yamahas with brighter klipsch will make the system sound too harsh. Mike |
