Reciver inputs. Composite or S-Video?

I have Kenwood vr-716 from HTIAB.HTB-406

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/product.jsp?productId=2543

says 3 composite inputs but I dont see them on back.
using Svideo now. Do I want Composite?

Also have jbl powered 10" sub. how do I hook up.
running it split off the mains currently.ok?

Do you mean componant? Composite are RCA jacks, red, yellow and white.

No, you don't want composite. Composite is that one yellow jack that carries all the color signals in one output. S-Video has better resolution and component is the best of the three.
You should have a subwoofer or LFE output on the Kenwood. Use that to hook up your powered sub. Don't split it off the mains.

I meant component video inputs. Theres none..

Use the jack meant for the Kenwood's powered subwoofer
If you don't have component video on the receiver, you'll be fine. What you want to do is go directly from the DVD video outputs to the video inputs of the TV. Its a better connection in general.

There is a lot on sub connections on other threads. There is no simple answer. It all depends on what, exactly, you want the sub to do. Try "Search" on this forum. But, as with composite/S-video, why not just try it and see? I think you will find S-video wins hands-down.
