i bought my 2270 used from saturday audio exchange in chicago. it's always sounded great at high volume, but when first turned on and at low volume, the right or both channels get noisy and/or drop out.
if i play with the tape/source button, i can get it to come in again, at least temporarily. so the problem seems to be liked to that input.
i tried to get around this by never turning the unit off and keeping it warm, but this is impractical, i burned out all the lights, and it's a waste of electricity.
i've since had it serviced by one of the more reputable technicians on the north side, but the problem persists.
questions: is this a typical problem with this unit? is the problem reparable? i don't want to replace this thing, but if it's only good at high volumes, it's impractical for this apartment dweller.
