Currently in a stage of not sure whether to sell my entire system or downsize and try uplift the sound to something more exciting. In other words keep my cambridge audio 540 amp and buy the monitor audio br1s in place of my rather 'mixed up' wharfedale diamond 8.1s if its right to critisize them like that.
I have a pair of br2's with an older NAD 7175PE receiver in an extra system in the basement. Obviously at that price point you are not getting the resolution of a more expensive speaker. However, they do a fine job for their cost. If you are going the MA route you would do well to bump up to the b2's. They should be only a bit more in cost. Here in the U.S. the b1's used are about $150.00. The b2's are about $175.00.
JJ, The more I think about it you may be able to find a pair of the Silver S series s1's or s2's for a good price now that the new Silver RS series has come out.
