Carpet acoustics!!

So we're re-vamping the house. New room for me and new carpets throughout. The carpets are thicker than our last ones and damn it makes a difference with a subwoofer.

It just sounds firmer yet more relaxed!! Simple as that.

So if u want a better sounding sub and dont want to buy a new carpet then get a thick mat. Infact just get new thickish carpet.

Yes, stay away from wood floor in any room you watch TV in if you value having good sound that doesn't bounce around the room like crazy. At my parents home where they have a wood floor I can hear the TV and understand what people are saying better in another room.

You think that's bad?
My basement is a nook and cranny place, and a few years back decided to go with a pine ceiling @8'.
Well the kids are gone now, and took the furniture, so the room is empty, bare drywall, and a wooden ceiling @8'.
No carpet to speak of.
And 3 sets of speakers.
2 teleposts down there.
