Hi Guys

I have a set of Paisley SPL monitor the foam on the outter edge of the speaker detach itself from the cone wich is somekind of plastic. The foam is not damage at all. I was wondering if somebody had the knowledge of what kind of glue they used or tips on how to fix that. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thank you.

.

Try contact cement. Be careful, once the two pieces touch, they are forever bonded in that spot.

Robert, I had those. Do you have 10's or 12's?
Nobody else has heard of them, and API does not stock parts.
Ian Paisley did a wonderful job on these as an upper line to the Acoustic Research line that API was using his name for.
Those Paisley's were all his design.

Try nail polish on similar materials before hand, It is not so flexible, but will not crack.

The bass player punched one of the Marsland bass bins on the way out, I mended it with the nail polish(yes, pink), but that was a cardboard Marsland 200w 15" driver, with 120 oz magnet.I spotted the suspension(neo or something close) with the polish as well.
I believe in the nail polish, at least for low drivers.

BTW, he hit it as hard as he could, one little crack in the surface.
Them be tough.

BTW, I also banged the chick that donated the nail polish.

Robert, I had the 12"'s(5000's)? but the drivers are both peerless.
You might pull a woofer and scan the unit for #'s, they may be available from someone else. BUT, if one is breaking down, the others will follow closely behind(barring physical damage.)
Replacing one unit is taboo, and major repairs to one driver will disrupt the balance, if not perfectly accomplished.
Ideally, you could replace the quartet, if the right drivers are available.
Have you had the speakers apart?

Robert, I pm'd you back.
You are going to have to open them up and get some info.
If you got them cheaply enough, the replacement pars may work out well for another 20 years.
I think yours are like 1983 or 4
