Anyone know what could be causing this? I turned on my receiver this morning and got the "Amp Err" message flashing in my face, then my receiver turns off and won't turn back on.

I reset the power strip and turned it back on, tried the receiver, same thing.

After waiting 15-20 minutes I tried again and this time my receiver stays on but no sound. I tried different modes (Digital, Analog, 5.1, stereo, etc) and nothing.

My home theatre system has been configured the same way for a few years now so it's not a wiring issue.

My Receiver is an RCA 5.1 Receiver, purchased about 3 years ago. (I'm not sure on the specific model since I'm not at home).

It most likely needs servicing or replacement. In the case of an RCA I'd recommend a replacement... not RCA.

Remove all input and output wires from the unit and try again.

Kano, Pioneer used to make the Optimus home electronics line, with the exception of speakers (at least that was what I heard from multiple people).

I wonder is RCA makes their own receivers, or farms it out to a company.
