You've gotta give the guy a little credit. At least he's honest enough to say they're his speakers, and not like the other rejects who are asking about a 'great new product' or vendor.

Either way, spam is spam. I didn't think there were levels of it until now.

I don't really mind all that much...his speakers are pretty indeed and if they were available locally I'd happily swing by to give them a listen just for sh*ts and giggles.

ye xingpeng,

Sheesh, can't you find some poor starving English teacher to edit your website? Or at least run a spell-checker on the text before you publish it?

iPod speakers? So you're supposed to carry these things around with you? That's gonna be inconvenient on the subway, not to mention the gym. And jogging? Forget it. I think you need to do some more design work.

Here's a hint, they should like like headphones.

Well, ye xingpeng isn't the only one on this forum promoting his products - what's good for the goose is good for the gander also - is it not?

Although I agree this forum should be free from blatant free promotion, I don't agree with the discrimination.

Jan,

iPods are no longer just for carrying around; see Apple's "iPod HiFi" plus a whole load of third-party stuff.

ye xipeng,

It's OK. There are other makers posting on this forum. You honest tell us, at the start, that you make these speakers.

The odd thing about iPod add-ons is that there is nothing special about the output of iPod. Any HiFi will do. And, I think, "iPod" speakers should work just as well (or badly) with any other source.

Either way, you cannot use a picture of Polk Monitor 60 speakers on a site without reference :-)

"iPods are no longer just for carrying around ... "

Yeah, and 8 tracks aren't just for my car anymore either.

Well, the compact audio cassette eventually took on a life of its own, too.....

I love these devices for presenting the signal from an MP3 player to the tape head on a car cassette player.

Evolution in action. Like chewing food with our gill arches, no-one would dream of designing it like that. We see the legacy of widespread investment in an component that is now obsolete as regards its original purpose, but still useful, albeit for something else.

It is cheaper to build on what you've got.

One problem I have with "intelligent design" is that it isn't. (Off topic).

Anyway, the iPod is taking us somewhere; it is progress. Just stick around and see. Whether for better or worse, time will tell.

I've just got back my Sony Walkman Pro audio cassette recorder-player. What a marvel of ingenuity and technology, all to do something that is now pointless. I was so pleased with that machine, when I bought it. Personally, I find the iPod massively more elegant and pleasing.

We use the iPod as a massive source of music in the upstairs rooms where we don't typically want quality, just background. As it happens I'd like it to sound a tad better but want it to work in a small unit like those that the OP has devised. I was playing around with the idea of just designing my own.

The iPod can be really rather good quality if you rip at a decent rate, and still give you a jukebox worth's of music. Can't really hold your nose up to that.

Regards,
Frank.

I love that post...so true. The 'iPod speakers' really aren't that great anyway.

Why is this guy's spam still around?

Wait a minute, I think it's my fault. I think I insulted the admin and he's spiting me. I posted the following in the feedback section -

"Berny,

Ever notice how quickly spam gets removed?
Ever notice how quickly offensive posts get removed?
You can insult whom ever you want, but free advertising is just going too far."

Sorry I forgot it was you. Also, I stand corrected - it took him 23 minutes, not the originally stated 20 minutes.
