NAD C352 + Dynaudio Audience 52

I have been to some foreign forums and the above combo seems to be the standard (with a NAD CDP) recommendation for Hi-Fi newbies.

Lets add our comments without any question.....shall we
nice combo but a slight mismatch - Dyn 52 s have a lot to offer than the NAD combo so bit of an imbalance.
May be Dyn 52 - Nad 352 - and a better CDP.
and yes 352 can drive 52 s :-)
my 2 cents without a question as i was toying a lot with the idea of having the above combo so got provoked.

cheers

Now, I would add in the question for this thread...

Will the C352 be up for the job in driving the Audience 52? Will the C352 on it's limit in this case?

Saurabh, how about the NAD C542? making up the

NAD C352+C542+audience 52....

Thanks...

while 352 can drive Dyn 52 i think thats as far as 352 would go anything higher in the dyn range and we need more power and currrent, also its always better to have more power IMHO.
One good amp for the job is Rotel 1062 - rated at 60X2 watts at 8 ohms but fantastic at driving he Dyn 52s as has a lot more current.
With regards to Nad 542 - fantastic, musical and very good pricing BUT you will not use the Dyns to their full potential with the NAD 542 from my experience - it will sound good none the less.

Also no matter what - never mix Rotel and NAD this is my own experience.

My choices would be (in the order)
Dyn 52 + Ra 1062 + Rega Apollo
Dyn 52 + RA 03 + Arcam 73
Dyn 42 + Rega Brio + Rega Apollo
Dyn 42 + Arcam 65+ + Arcam 73
Dyn 42 + Nad 352 + NAD 542

Also very important to get the cables right - some forum members have much more experience in that direction.

cheers

The Audience 52's ain't no pansies.
A 352 would fall flat.
Now a 172/272 would survive.

I might try a pair of m2200's from Outlaw before I drop too much $.

Also, look at the pre-loved market, and see if you can find a Classe 200 or CA201 amp for a good price.

Smokin' high powered amps, with clarity and transparancy, and lotsandlots of power.

Nuck:

As an owner of Dynaudio Audience, I think you are dead wrong. The C352 with Dyn 52s are a superb combo, and the NAD is a much smoother and cleaner amp than the Outlaw monoblocks you suggest.

Oh oh...the rare occasion of agreement has occurred again. The Outlaw amps simply aren't refined enough for the Dyns. Even the the NAD just barely makes it but it certainly is more musical and refined than the Outlaw mono's. I recommend the Outlaws for HT use primarily.

The 352/Dynaudio listening deserves another listening, apparantly(only had 1 to be fair).
Thanks, lads.

Hawk, welcome back!

One more very nice option for the Dyn 52s is the Arcam Solo.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear them drive the 52s.

Nice one box solution backed by a very decent performance and power to drive the Dyn 52/42 well.

Also quite musical and very convinient.

Hmmm, my opinion is that the Solo isn't really capable of driving 52s. It can drive 42s fine, but I thought 52s were a tall order for it really.

It really sings with Totem Mites and Naim n-Sats, both of which are easy to drive by comparison.

Regards,
Frank.
