Visit to Tweeter

It's been a while since I ventured into the local Tweeter outlet, having banned them since a youngster tried to sell me on a pair of Sapphire speakers using an mp3 server as the brain (ugggghh). Anyway, about a month ago I figured I'd check out the speaker selection, and gave three bookshelves the once over: Polk LSI9, Polk LSI7, and the Focal 806 S. In short I thought both polks had a laid back high end, with the 9's (maybe) being a little heavy on the bass, while the 7's seemed to have better overall tonal balance. The Focals gave a lot more detail, but may be less forgiving of poorly recorded discs. Any thoughts on any of these?

PS The Martin Logans were out of my price range so I wouldn't even let them turn them on-LOL!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

But the LSI7's sound better to these ears than the more expensive LSI9's (haven't heard Focals).
