I'm planning of upgrading my system with NAD 352. It is going to be used with AR15 Hi-res speakers. The source is DVD pioneer DV-717. Any thoughts about NAD and AR combination? Would I benefit a lot if I upgrade dvd player as well?
A friend of mine, audiophile, has also Pioneer 717 DVD Player connected to KEF 104/2 speakers by Anthem tube Pre + Power. I think it is a very good stereo-video set that is used to music listening and operas watching as well. The sound had some traces of metal character that was supposed to come from the Pioneer DVD. The video part of the Pioneer 717 DVD is excellent. My friend added Musical Fidelity A3 24 DAC. The addition of that unit solved the feeling of metal sound completely. Anyway, I do not think that any other DVD player in the same price level can do better.
