when you were in college, could you tell the major of a person just by how they dressed?

I am an anthropology major, and usually am in jeans or khaki pants, with a t-shirt or button down.

Up here in Oswego, for a certain part, I have found that you can tell a persons major by how they dress.

Was that the case when you guys were in my shoes? Some of you may still be.

And how is this a speaker issue anyway????? :-)

Frank, you earned mention in my blog post, did you see it?
Since this is barely a speaker question as well.
Thanks for all your insight from across the pond.

I am in college. I can't guess anyone's major from the way they dress unless they have on a shirt that says "i pwn n00bs" or a giveaway. I am computer science and most of the CS majors dress a bit differently. However, I can tell which ones moms still dress them lol!!!

Dean - you can't tell who are the FPA majors there by the way they dress? When I was there, they stuck out like a sore thumb. I hear they are multiplying by the day now.

I went to school in NYC. You could pretty much discern the fine artists from the architects and engineers. My favorite was an individual in one of my fine arts seminars held in the morning: he was either too lazy or too depressed to get dressed and would appear in class in his pajamas, robe, and bedroom slippers disheveled and looking like he just rolled out of bed.
Gotta love Fine Arts class!

Nuck,

Err...thanks...!

Incidentally, I notice you're using the original biwire plates on your PSB speakers. For a cheap upgrade, snip a short length off your speaker wire and replace those plates with the new length you've snipped off. The difference will vary between a small change to quite a dramatic change. Also, I tend to wire positive to high Frequency and negative to low frequency for best results. The difference can vary between unnoticeable and slight difference.

Regards,
Frank.

Frank, I would tend towards dramatic!
The bass response of these speakers is like I have never had with them, they were always strained, and had little movement from the drivers without complaint and harshness. They now move freely and fully!
I also turned down the treble on the H/K, now I know why some folks call the unit bright, never was for me, I need more treble than most.
All in all, a worth while experiment!
Gracias.
But... I always fell back on the basics.
1 over 1 over R1+1 over R2, etc.
Just how does the moving of a parallel input make such a difference?
Maybe I need more book-learnin, or more real world smarts in the audio dept.

Also, If I bi-amp(and I may now, havnt tried with the Rotel), how are impedences affected? Is there something in the XO to balance the loads?
I think the xo's are third order, not sure.
Is there a way to identify the XO's?
You opened up a whole lot of Q's here, and thanks again.

Update... The smoke came pouring out of the left speaker port at a fairly high volume.
Pulled the XO and found the ceramic resistor ready for dinner..oh well.
I shall obtain 2 more and mount them on heat sinks instead of glued to the breadboard,as was.

Constant change is here to stay!
