If you are set on a Yamaha I would look at the new RX-V2400. This is a much improved receiver over past Yamaha's and is not bright as in the past but still thin sounding. Being Yamaha's first THX receiver it finally has correct bass management which Yamaha has never had before and the 3300 does not. Plenty of inputs and features and decent power for medium sized rooms.
