I have a Rotel RA 1060 integrated amp driving two sets of B&W bookshelf speakers. I am building a new house, and will have 8 pairs of B&W's (bookshelf, inwall, ceiling, outdoor) that I need to drive. Can I add a separate Rotel power amp and use the integrated as a pre-amp

thanks for your input

If your integrated amp has a pre-out main in loop on it, then you can use it as a pre-amp. As far as running 8 pairs of speakers, I don't know what exactly you are trying to do. I don't know if your integrated will be able to control a multi channel/zone amp. Others on this forum or a stereo shop that deals with custom installation should be able to help you out with that part.

if my memory serves me correctly, you would be better off bridgeing the 2 amps and getting a true pre-amp
