I just hooked up my Harman Kardon AVR 430 at my new home and it turns on for about 3 seconds and then shuts off. Has anyone experienced this problem or can you point me in the right direction? The things I have plugged into it are as follows: DVD player using component video cable and regular audio cables; Comcast Digital Cable Box using component video cables and regular audio cables. The monitor goes to my large HDTV with component video cables. I have surround sound speakers and a sub woofer connected as well.

ok i know you probably know this as well, but it must be asked: are your speakers wired in phase and everything or not?
also is the unit new or old or refurb new?
and finally if it is old is it still on warranty, because your interior interconnects may have become oxidized which is known to cause that problem. amongst various other problems
