I am trying to purcahse a surround sound system atm but I have absolutely no idea what is important to know. I have been trying to read some posts here, but it is almost like another language. |

The type of speakers you will need ie. bookshelf, floorstander, micro -tiny speakers,in wall in ceiling. 5.1 , 6.1, or 7.1. The .1 is subwoofer and the 5 is mains, center, and 2 surrounds. After you have decided all of the above you then will need to decide what kind of sound you are looking for. Speakers range from warm to neutral to bright as do receivers or amps. Warm to neutral you can listen to at louder levels for longer periods of time before you get fatigued or get a headache.
