Ok, here is the problem, my friend bought a visonik complete set for a 12" sub. It looks like crap, but he wanted me to set it up. I wired the amp, same as any other I have done, but it wont turn on. It has power from the remote, becuase that makes a red light go off on it, but it is on even when the power cord isnt connected to the battery. I know the battery and power cord have a good connection, and everything else is hooked up as well. The only thing i can think of is the ground. It is in the back of an extended cab ranger, an 85, so its got rust on whatever bolt you can find. Any, suggestions on dumb things i may be looking over would be appreciated, thanks.

find a place where there is no rust and scrape the paint away and use a self tapping screw and screw through the floor.

yes under the carpet or where there is not carpet. make sure you scrape the paint away so it is bare metal before you drill into it.
