New member Username: Bluewallrich26Post Number: 1 Registered: Dec-06 | hi, i currently purchased two polk gnx124 12" subs with a bandpass box for my brother for xmas. they are 175 watts continuous power and 400 peak.(per speaker) i am wondering what type of amp i should get . mono or two channel . how much power do i need for them to hit moderatly hard.? what specific amp would you suggest. i am on a very tight budget. so i will probaly purchase the amp off ebay . thanks . |

Bronze Member Username: LudzPost Number: 39 Registered: Nov-06 | go mono amp (class d) as far as power, doesnt sound like you would need too much, so maybe a smaller hifonicsfrom wat i chceked it looked like the subs were 4 ohm, so you could just wire them into a 1 ohm load and use an amp like this http://cgi.ebay.com/HIFONICS-TITAN-TXi7506-750W-MONO-CLASS-A-B-AMP-NEW-2006_W0QQ itemZ250058605169QQihZ015QQcategoryZ18797QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem i think that would work fine im no expert tho, maybe some of the other guys can give their input. if thats too much you can just tune it down, since the subs are 4 ohm and kinda lower power req. its hard to find an amplifier thats 1 ohm stable and still low power, at least i had a hard time. |

It is locked up I called 1 800 # they said send it in they'd reboot it and send me back a disc with it.
