sweet site to start off.

i have 1 10" lightning audion sub and 1 12" lightning audio sub both 750w and 150 rms. and 1 300w amp at 150 rms at 4 ohms mono chanel. but the 1 12 sounds louder then the 10 and the 12 series wired together. y is that? i think the amp is way to small do i need a mono chanel amp with at least 300 rms at 4 ohms to run these how i want? i was thinking the mtx 6500d amp...just incase i want to upgrade the subs later. so is ther any way to make the subs run as loud if not louder than the 1 12" did?

basically, it works like this:
going from one 12" sub @ 300 watts to two 12" subs @ 150 watts each would increase output +3dB.
Going from one 12" sub @ 150 watts, to the same sub @ 300 watts increases 3dB as well.
wiring the 10" in series divides the voltage between the subs, and thus gives half the power to each speaker. You're now driving a 12" sub at half the initial 300 watts, plus you're adding a smaller sub, so the total output is decreased somewhat.
I'd stick with the 12" sub, and perhaps add more power, but that is an entry level sub.
oyu'd get better results with a better sub, too.
lightning isn't that great.

i no but each sub is only 150 watts rms so 1 12 and 1 10 combined is 300 wats rms. if i do get the 6500d amp at 250 rms at 4 ohms it would be 125 rms to each so wouldent that be louder than just 1 12 at 150 rms? and how should i wire the subs together with the mono amp, series or parrallel
