I just installed my new amp (rockford p3001) and I was wondering if it was ok to keep the gain pretty much on full on the amp and do all the controlling up front via bass remote? That way, if I wan't it loud, I just turn it up, and if I want it lower, I just turn it down. Any help appreatiated!!!

you should match the gain to the pre-out voltage on your amp. if you don't, and turn the gain all the way up you will push the amp into clipping the signal and will blow your sub(s)

if you have 4v pre-outs, then the gain on your amp should be set to 4v.:-)

Thanks MuddyWaters for your reply! I heard about that but when I looked on my amp, there was know way of telling what volts the gain was on. There was no numbers around the gain for some reason :S I don't turn the remote all the way up and I went to the highest possible point and listend to the sub and there was no distortion, unless you wouldn't hear the amp clipping like that. Thanks!
