AMP Running at 1200 watts RMS...Do i need a alternator?

im thinking of getting a hifonics brutus running at 1200 w/rms @ 1 ohm. do i need a capacitor or a alternator?

well just see if your headlights dim at night that tells you also lotta ppl say hifonics amps are overrated a little i dont have any experience with them

NO...You need 30 capacitors, 12.5 Batcaps, and a hamster on a wheel. That should do it for about 2 yrs. until the hamster dies.

2 years? Nah - the caps would be dead after a bass note or two. :-P heh heh.

Unless you mean a mutant hamster...in that case - the caps would never even come into play, because those little suckers can generate at least 800 amps at 16 volts. :-)

Believe me if you push that amp(even being a hifonics) your lights will dim, I have had one before, but that one was a 1500rms, probally putting out around 1100 or so.
