When you bridge an amp, do you always have to run it in 4ohm? For example, bridged mono 400 watts @4 ohm. Could you wire a 2 ohm load into that? Or will the amp like break?

basiclaly if it says its table at 4 ohms bridged dont go lower, because when u bridge an amplifier what happens is it readsd half that, so if u bridge 4 ohms, the amp is really thinking its putting out 2 ohms, so thats already really low to it, then when u try and dridge it at 2 ohms like u wanna do then its going to be running at 1 ohm, so on and so forth, but its alll on the quality of the amplifier though, for instance, i had an interfire IB2900C amp and i ran it bridged at 4, 2 and 1 ohm and the amp still held alllll of its power throughout of it and never served me wrong
