Quick question, I bought a sony miniDV camcorder and I am playing with it during my 10 day return period. I am curious about one thing. One of the reasons I bought it was that I was told that transfering the video to the pc was supposedly faster via firewire compared to using my current method of analog camcorder into a video capture device. I have not seen a speed increase, it appears the transfer is still done in real time. Did I get bad scoup? If so, the miniDV is going back because I have a Digital 8 Prosumer Camcorder (pre-firewire era) and I am happy with video quality, but was looking to save time and improve video quality, but it doesn't look like I am gaining either after reading all of the questions about DVD Authoring with a good picture.
