Dvd camcorders skipping?

tom kap
i am looking towards buying a new camcorder in the near future and am faced with two main options: dvd-camcorder or minidv-camcorder? i know that both are very high quality formats. the advantages of a dvd cam mostly outweigh those of the minidv, BUT there is still one HUGE deciding factor for me... when a normal camcorder is recording, if you move it our jerk it around, it will not skip and give you a screwed up image for a second. if you used a dvd camcorder and you bump it or something, WILL IT SKIP?????? ive searched the internet and have found no answers. does anybody here know the answer? or a link to a website to answer my question? thx for any and all replies.

Tom, I have the same questions. Have you heard anymore on this subject? I would be interested to see what you have found out or decided.

I have found little on the internet as to whether DVD or Mini DV is better. I believe Mini DV is better but if you create a DVD at in MPEG-2 (DVD quality format) does it really matter?
