Here's the breakdown. I have a dv6000 series HP laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I have every update and driver imaginable for both the PC and my Handycam. I have successfully downloaded video on an in-law's computer with a 4pin to 6pin firewire with Windows XP. However, I just picked up a 4 to 4 pin iLink cable and cannot get the Handycam to register on my Laptop. I've tried everything..from disabling and uninstalling the 1394 driver and device, to rebooting and updating drivers for the Sony Handycam. I'm at wits end here...Please HELP GURUS!
