1/4" versus 1/4.7" CCD

Anonymous
I am planning to buy a mini-DV or DVD camcorder, and I am not sure about the 1/4" or 1/4.7" CCD.

1/4" CCD is larger and has fewer pixel, so each pixel has larger size, which means better low-light performance. Also, 1/4" is relatively cheaper.

1/4" provides 500 lines video quality, while 1/4.7" gives 520. It seems not a big difference to me. If I don't care the still image. Is the 1/4" CCD a better choice for me.

Thanks for any suggestion.
