There are still a few places that sell this camera, and I've read good things about the Optura Pi, but I'd like to get some feedback from people who have actually used it. The only way I can buy one is online, and that means I won't be able to play with one before I buy.
One key question: does the Pi have "pass-thru" capability? Neither the brochure nor the instux manual mention that term; it just says that you can record from analog onto a DV tape in the camera. I'd prefer a camera that has the ability to place my A/D transfer directly onto my hard drive.
Overall, how happy are/were you with the Pi? I've read about the good features, but are there any features or qualities that you were less than happy with? Any reason this camera should be avoided?
