I have an old home video that I am trying to get onto my mac from a VCR. I was told the easiest way for me to do this was to get my VHS onto my mindv. In my Camcorder manual it says to use a dv connector but I can't seem to find any VCR's that use this function. I do have a VCR that has output for the video and audio. Is there anyway I can plug in the cord (Red, White, Yellow) into the output and then plug the other end to the camcorder (AV) and then record it. I'm sure by reading this you can tell I need this explained in the most common terms possible. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Does your mac have a video capture device?

You can use an analog video capture device to connect your VCR to the mac.

Where do I plug it in to the VCR? In the video out?

Use the VCR's audio/video output to Mac's audio/video input.
