Ok, I just bought a Sony Handycam DCR-HC26 and I have NO idea on what I am doing. What do I need to import the DV video to my PC? I've got an USB cable and yea, thats about it. I need some help and I am new to the Video world. So please, if I'm acting like a n00b, please dont yell at me. I just have no idea as to what I was doing.
You could get a video capture card for your PC. From there follow the manufacturer's instruction on how to use the video and audio output of your camera to connect to your PC.
You could also get something called Dazzle Video Creator. Very easy to use.
Then there's the stand alone DVD recorder. It works much like a regular VCR except that it records on DVD. You can connect your camcorder to this and record to your hearts content.
