Hi everybody. This is a great forum and all I could do so far, regarding video capture and DVD burning, is because of all your kindness.
To my question: I have decided, after reading many posts, to store my original footage on my MiniDVs instead of on DVDs or HDs. One thing I would like to do, though, is to edit some parts to make them take as little space as possible (not to lower quality).
In order to do that I have to capture, edit and upload back. I am just not sure how to do that on a Mac without loosing any quality. I have read some posts on PCs and the use of .avi but iMovie captures in a .dv standard which I dont' know if is the same thing or not.
Can any Mac user please help me understand the file conversion (and quality change) that happens when one captures from MiniDV on a mac and edits it afterwards?
I hope I made myself clear enough. If not please let me know and I'll try harder next time.
