Import 8mm Analog Tapes Using Digital8 Camcorder?

I've got a ton of 8mm and Hi8 analog tapes, and my camcorder died. If I replace it with a Digital8 camera, will I be able to import my analog tapes into my Mac using the Digital8 camera without using a converter, like I can with my MiniDV camera?
