I was wondering if this amp would be compatable with 3 JL 10 w3v2s (300w each). they are the 4 ohm version.

3 4ohm subs in parallel equals a 4/3 ohm load so with that configuration I'd suggest a mono block amp thats stable to 1 ohm or a two channel amp bridgeable into 1ohm(hard to find, but there's a couple class A soundtreams on ebay that'll do that).

You could also wire each sub's dual voice coil in parallel(you have the 10w3v2-d2's right?) which will give you 3 1ohm woofers. Running these 3 in series would give you a 3 ohm load(altho I've been told that subs in series isn't always a good idea), but still the amp you're suggesting is only bridgeable into 4 ohms so keep looking.

Sry, 3 40hm subs is hard to match to an amp. A JL /1 might do it as they're rated to 1.5 ohms and could almost handle a 1.33 ohm load. Mebbe they can but you'd have to ask JL about that.

Here are the Class A Soundstreams on EBay

manual

http://www.soundstream.com/sub/owner_manual/rca5_10.pdf

The 5.0 should deliver about 375 watts(125 ea) into a 1.33 ohm load and the 10.0 should give you around 750 watts(250 ea).

Be forwarned class A amps are pretty inefficient(I love the way they sound tho, have owned Class A 50's/100's). They get hot as hell and require a good amount of current so make sure you've got a well ventilated mounting location and a good sized alternator(the 10.0 will draw more than 60 amps at 750 watts and thats probabably at 14 volts).

I've been away from the car audio scene for a few years otherwise I might be able to make some better suggestions. I really don't know whats GOOD nowadays.

This should work

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5719476500&rd= 1&ssPageName=WDVW

From looking at the specs it should deliver about 800 watts into a 4/3 ohm load. I don't know what PPI is like now but I've some of their older stuff(including a promos 2050 in my Explorer now) and they were just about the best back in the day. I've got my promos bridged into a pair of your speakers(400 watts @ 2ohm) and its pretty tight. I'm not a db monster(1.625 ft^3 purist box) so i couldn't tell ya how loud it is altho it can overpower a pair of MB Quart 5 1/4" Q's with 180 watts ea fairly easily.

Maybe someone here can comment on Precision Power's latest stuff.

This ones a bit more affordable and 600 watts should be sufficient.

Then again I have no idea what Phoenix Gold's present quality is. I didn't like them much for highs but they were PPI's main competition in the bass department in the late 80's, early 90's.

Anyways, the price sure seems right and it looks to be a very versatile amp which would definitely serve your application well.

Just to let you know you will get a 2.67 ohm load with the dvc 4 ohm subs. So I would take a look at something that gives out around 1000 rms at 2 ohms. I would take a look at the hifonics bx1500. Its 1000 rms at 2 ohms so about 850-900 at 2.67 I would say.

Yeah which subs do you have? The d2's or the d4's? The d2's have dual 2 ohm voice coils which can give you either a 1 or 4 ohm woofer and the d4's have dual 4 ohms which results in either a 2 or 8 ohm sub.

When you say you have "4 ohm" subs what do you mean? It makes a huge difference when choosing an amp.
