JBL BP 600.1 amp

I just got the new Alpine Type S 4 ohm dvc subs that RMS 300 watts. I have a JBL BP600.1 amp. I read that it is "2 ohm optimized but can run a 1 ohm load with ease" which is what I would be running my subs down to. Should I maybe take them back and exchange them for the 2 Ohm DVC type S subs or will it be fine at 1 ohm?

Well with that amp, I would either take back your speaker and get one that can handle the wattage you are about to deliver it. Or get another Type S and wire the coils first in parallel and then the speakers in series. This will give you a 4 ohm load and not make the amp work to hard or blow up your speakers.

Those are the options I would pursue anyway. The choice is entirely yours. Good luck.
