I recently acquired a new vehicle, which is in dire need of a new audio system (1997 Mercury Sable). The simple requirements I came up with (I'm kinda low on money right now, so I'll get subwoofers and higher end speakers latter) was a good CD player with MP3 and CD-R/W play ability, and decent 6x8 speakers [of course, that wont be addressed here, but on the speaker board].

I choose the Kenwood KDC-MPV5025. It seems to be a good unit withen my price range. I also have heard relatively good things about Kenwood products from my friends. However, cruising this site, I have also found some bad opinions on Kenwood. I was wondering if I can find a better product withen the 200 price range (I can push 250 if needed).

I thank you in advance (Product Specs Below).

For that price range I would look at the alpine 9827 or some of the jvc units.
