Need help with a ported box for two Alpine type r 15's. I cant figure out how to determine the lenght and size of a slot port. Anyone know?

find the specs that Alpine has. If they only have specs for round ports, just convert them. If it gives a round diamter, just multiply that by PI (3.14) Because area=PIxDiameter. So once you get that area, you can work from that and put it into a square shape. The length stays the same. Or you change the lenght, which in turn will change the tuning frequency. But what they recommend will more than likely be adequate.
Here's a quick and dirty calculation example.
A 4" diameter port is 12.56 sq. in. So an equal square port would be a hair over 1x12 or 2x6 or 3x4 or anything in between--whatever works with the box shape you're building. HTH
What do you think would sound better each sub in there own enclosure with 3cubes total including vent area or all in one with 5.5 cubes total what do you think and its for the 2 alpine type r 15's
