JL makes great subs and amps and Pioneer is respectable.
Would suggest changing the head unit to an Alpine or Clarion

Oh ok then, coz i live in Tasmania, Aus.
Good Prices are hard to come by.
Im payin $500 for that headunit.... i dont really know much about it but i kno it has something like 6 volt to lower distortion?
What are some prices for a reasonable Alpine or Clarion $AUS?
thanks

You can get a pioneer HU for pretty cheap, just look around online... they make nice head units. As for your JL subs, they are top of the line subs, but they are overpriced.. there are subs that are just as good for less money, same with their amps. Get 6.5" instead of 6x9. 6x9 are too big for their purpose. You could get some Infinity reference 6.5", I believe they would be cheaper than the JL, not sure though about that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18799&item=5714999969&rd= 1

As for amps I would go with kicker or hifonics, even JBL if you want to spend less money.

Also are you looking for Sound quality or sound pressure (bump)? That will depend on which sub you should buy.

$300 US is good for a mid-level Alpine/Clarion head unit. You can do the converion to AUS.

Thanks anon,
with the 6x9s we are turnin the bass down "off" so all we are getting is nice SQ.
6.5" are supposedly ok, but i think ill keep the 6x9s.
The price isnt really an issue at the moment, i hav heard alot about JL subs and they seem to be the bst bet for the moment, Thanks heaps
And ill mostlikely change the HU.
what about the cap? Should i keep it or dont i need 1?
and finally placement/angleling of the subs? any opinions towards that?
Thanks
