Does Crossover could damage the head Unit.

Hi..
I just got a coustic crossover XM6. When I install it, there is a whining noise. And after few hours my RCA output from head unit "Panasonic CQ-DF602U" Broke. I can't use it no more. Does crossover could damage the head unit?
