Since electricity is repeled by itself it travels down the outside of a wire bundel. So with the 4 guage you have a higher flow of current, with a lower resistance. For a 1200 watt amp, run the 4 guage. |

Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 4419 Registered: Dec-03 | if you run that amp at 1 ohm to get 1200 watts, you'll need at least 4ga cable depending on distance. the gauge of cable you need for power and ground is determined by current draw and distance. 1200 watts is about 115A of current at full output from that amp. |
