Car radio Remote wire

i have a question ik just bought some neon light for in my boombox
but can i connect the wire to the remote wire from te radio? because my amplifier is also connected to the same wire. or wil my car burn down?

The remote wire produces very little power. Not anywhere near close enough to power your "neon lights". If you mean conecting them to the power wire from your battery.....well....not advisable, but you coud.

try hooking it to your tail lights. You aren't going to wan tin on until night time anyway, and if you hook it up to your tailights, it won't work until you turn on the lights. Be careful not to get the turn signal though, neon isn't that cool blinkin off and on.

I'd personally just find an extra power wire from the fuse box, or make your own power wire from the battery, fuse it and connect it to a switch. The Remote wire isn't enough to power neon lights, the only way that would work would be to use it on an SCR or other turn on relay as a switching device, which would really defeat the purpose since you'd have to run a power wire anyway.
