wiring up an amp to a stock stereo. The stereo has no rem output to turn the amp on and when I connect the rem cable to the acc power the amp starts to hum loudly.... thanks for the help

are you using a line level converter for the input or does the amp have high level inputs built in?

we are using a line level input. but the amp hums loudly without the rca cables attached also.

sounds like a bad amp, sorry, you're hooking it to a sub,right? recheck your ground and make sure its on bare metal. other than that?..........
