Please help, I want a code for my radio
A1708200186
Sn AL2199W0708440
I tried a code 63685 written on the unit but it didn't work, any clues?
By the vin of the vehicle I asked Mercedes and they gave me a 4 digit number. I suppose it had a cassete Player before I buy it, thanks in advance.

63685 is definitely the correct original code for AL2199W0708440 as listed on the Merc Database

It will have to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service to be decoded/recoded

Is there any way to reset the password without removing the eprom chip from the unit?

No

However I am surprised that 63685 doesn't work.

Because it was already written on the unit then it is unlikely to have been recoded to another number.

Are you entering it correctly ?

Does the display show the correct information before you try entering the code ?

Code Entry as Follows:

Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" CODE " With " C " Flashing

Rotate RH Tuning Knob to Select 1st Digit

Press RH Tuning Knob to Enter

Rotate RH Tuning Knob to Select 2nd Digit

Press RH Tuning Knob to Enter

Rotate RH Tuning Knob to Select 3rd Digit

Press RH Tuning Knob to Enter

Rotate RH Tuning Knob to Select 4th Digit

Press RH Tuning Knob to Enter

Rotate RH Tuning Knob to Select 5th Digit

Press RH Tuning Knob to Enter

If the correct code number is now shown
Press And Hold RH Tuning Knob To Enter

Yes I tried it two times with that procedure, I can see a handwritten paper on it saying unlock OK, I guess maybe it was locked and someone flashed the eprom and propably couldn't use the default code or the default code doesn't work in combination with a different model car that's why it was unlocked to a different code for the specific Cpu . Just guessing

Yeah I would probably buy a new one, thanks a lot for your help. I tried another radio cd I had from my old smart 450 but guess what! It also has a code! I hope I ll find it in the manuals since I have sell my car with a pioneer radio cd and I had it removed and stored. Guess I am unlucky
