Is there any difference between having a 400w or 1000w sub on a 400w amp? All rms ratings. I’m looking for a new sub for better sound but am happy with how loud it gets. It would be nice to have one that would accommodate more power if I were to upgrade the amp eventually. I guess the real question is does a higher powered speaker need that power to perform and would I be better off with one that’s designed to run off lower power?
