I am in experienced when coming to amps and subwoofers but I have been doing my homework on them. I am needing to know and help from an expert before I buy these things 2 Rockford Fosgate R2SD2-12 500 Watts 12" Dual 2 Ohm Shallow Mount Subwoofer and I already have box and one of the subwoofers. Then I am thinking about purchasing an Planet Audio AC5000.1D 5000W Monoblock A_n_a_r_c_h_y Class D Power Car Amplifier. Would this setup work and what gauge wire would I need to run. Also would I need to go ahead and buy an capacitor? Thanks

For two 250w rms D2's you'd want to find an amp that's 500-600w rms at 2 ohms.

Personally, I would NOT buy that Planet Audio. In recent years their quality has dropped drastically. Besides, at 2 ohms that amp tests at around 800w rms, much more power than those subs need. When you consider the its 2 ohm rating is 2500w rms -- I figure any company willing to lie to that extent probably isn't building products of reliable quality either.

So, some other options:

500-600w rms is not a huge load for most stock electrical systems. If it were, a cap wouldn't help anyway. Don't waste your money.
