Why does my car stereo get hot?

so i have a very strange set up on my amps and subs and kickers i have a sony stereo and i have a kenwood power amp on it i dont know the watts of it and i have a boss R1100M for my boss phantom P126DVC 12 in sub and for some reason my stereo gets very hot and i checked my wiring and that is not the problem could someone help me

1. Too loud / too long
2. Poor ventilation of amp
3. Low impedance speakers on an amp which is NOT happy with such a load. That would be 4 ohm speakers on an amp NOT rated for them.
4. Inappropriate wire, like 18gauge or finer = larger number. This for runs over say�..10 feet (3 meters) per run.
5. Non-powered sub? Get a powered sub.
