So here's the story:
I bought the car 2nd hand after our big earthquake, so no manual, no security codes. The CD Changer didn't work (5952Z - looks like a voltage regulator power transistor/3 terminal regulator has blown).
I picked up a 5952S changer, plugged it in and everything seemed fine, but the audio on the original setup went through the 7 pin din plug, where the S sent it through a separate cable and RCA plugs to the head units AUX input.
I put a patch lead from the CD unit audio output to the unused pins on the Din plug, plugged in and the head unit died immediately.
All I get now is the flashing red light and the lights behind the number panel. The display panel doesn't light up, nor does anything work. The fuse behind the dash is OK and giving me 14V, and both 14v pins on the DIN plug give power.
Its a 7292ETCO-4B and has the number DVPG 291 which I assume is the serial number. Toyota part 86120-00027 (Toyota don't seem to want to know!)
Any help much appreciated before I throw it away and buy a cheap new unit.
