Alpine Code

Good day all,
I have a stock Alpine cassette stereo (C33 DIN US) (Serial # AL 6DBU W 0430375) in my 1998 BMW 323is that I paid for the code on 3 years ago. Two days ago, I loaned my battery to our generator/power plant in a quick and short-lived emergency.

Long story short,......my stereo "de-coded" and now I cannot listen to music. Computer crashed previously,....due to lost data (both computer and my brain) I cannot reactivate.

Thoughts,......anyone to the rescue here? I am prompted to simply replace it, but am also inconvenienced until then by the "decoded nature" of my radio. Do not really wish to pay $21 - $38 just for the code......for the small amount of time that I intend to keep the radio in the vehicle.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks for you time,
Eric
