Radio code for a 1999 Mercedes Benz c280

I just bought a Mercedes and the radio keeps saying code on it and the previous owner gave me a code but I don't think it's right what is all the information that I have to have for y'all to find a code for me bc it sucks wthout a radio.

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels,barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

man i been trying to get this radio out but i cant find anywhre with the keys to get it out. how can i take the radio out without breaking anything and without the radio removal keys. but do you know of any store that might carry them

If it has the standard 4 hole DIN fitting then read below.

Here is a video showing how to remove a standard radio from the dashboard.
A pair of extractors are required (available from Ebay etc ) but these can be made from 2 pieces of bent, wire coat-hanger or 4 small drills(using the blunt end) or 4 small Allen Keys or 4 small screwdrivers or 4 nails or even 4 darts.

An assistant is useful to pull the radio out whilst you are releasing the 4
securing clips

note: on some radios , these 4 holes are protected by 4 small screws. These
can be unscrewed using the appropriate size of Allen key.
