Hi yall,

I am in need of a new 10" subwoofer for under $200. I am willing to go up to $250 if there's a noticeable difference, but would prefer to keep it under $200. It needs to be 10" in a sealed fiberglass box. I will be feeding 700 rms into it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Fi Q 10" High QTS, cooling heat ring... a little more than 250 but well worth it...

I'm told the Sundown SA-10 uses foam surround instead of rubber. Is this true?

Even if the amp will be supplying 700 rms while the epic's max rms is 500?

You don't have to feed it the full 700 rms, you could just set the amp to feed it 500 rms at full tilt. That would give you a little head room. If sound quality is more of what you're going for, I would say go with the epic. The SA-10 would be more of an all around mix sub.

I appreciate the input but I prefer something higher than 500 wrms. At one point I could have decided between getting a 700 wrms amp or 500 wrms amp and I chose the higher one. I would like to purchase a sub that would be closer in matching the 700 wrms or I'd kick myself for not getting the 500 wrms amp. I hope you understand.

I'm a little cautious of picking up a subwoofer with foam surround because I've had them fall apart on me during the hotter months in summer.

epic will handle a clean 700 in a sealed box all day. 700 rms would basically be not noticably different then 500 anyways.

Rubber surround on the TC. and it will sound more like a 12 back there then a 10

There's one problem with the TC sounds epic... I need it to be at 2ohm, either with 1ohm DVC or 4ohm DVC. Parts express, their only dealer, only offers 2ohm DVC. What can I do?

I would spend the little extra an buy the 10'' Fi Q then. It would be well worth it! Get the dual 2ohm and run that amp @ 1ohm.
