I know you guys can help me out with this I have and older style re mt motor the triple stack looking motor with fi soft parts what would be a good size box for a burp external port it'll be in a 2000 explorer tuning 50-51 its what I'm peaking at amps right now is two 1500 strapped

18" = ouch in an explorer.
You would actually be better off w/ 15's or 12's in that cabin.


Might try sub and port up, box as far to the back of the cabin as you can get.

Or try Subs firing to the side, port back.

Where are you metering?
Kick? Headrest? Legal?

scot thanks man i was looking at using external aero ports.

and canaan i know 18 in explorer isnt great but i got the sub for 200 bucks i had it in there once before and loved it its kinda of why im looking to match the motor to another mt motor and make 15s or sell and get a pair of the new btl n2s. itll be mettered at the headrest probably on the passenger side this is also for meca

here's the noob question of the day since I don't compete....why is an 18 worse off than a 15 or 12 in an explorer?

Expo likes lots of cone area so two 15 would be better because its more cone area then a 18

lol....wow my bad, didn't see the " 's " on the end of 12 and 15 in canaan's post. I was like wtf, more cone area wins for spl lol

your explorer is gonna like sub up port back and yeah around 51-52 is what mine liked in the drivers seat. we did a s3 buils with a single 15 dc lv4xl on a dc 9k aamp did a 152.1 at the headrest. fusinf was around 170a i think.
